Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.

Stateside entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series such as "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.

The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California this Monday after undergoing treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, according to reports.

"He saw everyone as a friend - only friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.

They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.

He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" in the latter half of the 1990s.

He starred as a party host named Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, depicting a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.

In the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on a variety of hit series, like:

  • The King of Queens
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.

His work in movies encompass "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

A Life in Improv

Outside of his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".

"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anyplace who has a bad thing to say about him," his family wrote.

In a tribute, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
