Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and ongoing offensive against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone close to the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any damage is uncertain and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their territorial skies.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That preceding assault - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck areas associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the regime.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and fatalities.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
