The City boss confessed experiencing "embarrassment" following a confrontation with a TV crew member subsequent to Manchester City's 2-1 defeat at Newcastle on Saturday.

At full time, an emotional Guardiola stepped onto the field and had heated discussions with the referee, Sam Barrott and Newcastle’s Bruno Guimarães, and also touched the broadcast crew's equipment.

Regarding his confrontation with the Newcastle player, the coach explained: "We have known Bruno a long time and post-match, home or away, we converse. We often meet and I always have a good relationship. I love it. I'm passionate, I love to talk and move my hands."

Guardiola would not be concerned should a rival coach spoke to his players immediately after a game. "Not if you talk with respect as I do, it’s not a problem," he said, before referencing Barrott. "The referee was involved for 95 minutes, 98 minutes, he was involved. Goodness, he was involved."

Debatable Calls

City were unhappy that Barrott or the VAR did not award City a penalty for a Fabian Schär challenge on Phil Foden, and doubted Bruno's positioning on Barnes' goal Newcastle’s 70th-minute winner. Pictures published later show he was level.

Upcoming Milestone

Guardiola will take charge his century in Europe versus Leverkusen this week. "It’s quite good, it means that every season annually," he said.
